THE ONLY METAL WE LIVE IS BLACK
I’ve been into black metal the past year or so. I really like traditional bands such as Burzum, and Mayhem. As well as post black metal bands like Oathbreaker and Deafheaven.
However, I’m having a hard time understanding the lyrics with a lot of these bands. If I listen to it several times while looking at the lyrics I can eventually understand what they’re saying. Generally. But with some bands like Gorgototh and Leviathan a lot of the lyrics aren’t available.
And with bands like Xasther, I can’t even Tell when he’s actually singing. Is there a trick to this? Is black metal supposed to be understood or is it just about the screams?
